My Personal Philosophy of Gifted
AIG students are owed an educational environment that respects, values, and cultivates the uniqueness of each individual. An environment where every student is engaged, guided, and heard. An environment where the drive to excel is contagious, and each student learns to strive for more than they every thought possible. A "not one size fits all" environment where student strengths are maximized, while continuing to differentiate in depth the student's knowledge in other areas. An environment where students will one day leave feeling like they are ready to go out into the world and do something incredible. John F. Kennedy once said, "Not every child has an equal talent or an equal ability or equal motivation, but children have the equal right to develop their talent, their ability, and their motivation." Gifted children are like snowflakes, no two are alike, but they all require the right environment in which to flourish!

Gifted Education Policies Vary State by State
North Carolina State Definition of AIG Students, Article 9B
"Academically or intellectually gifted students perform or show the potential to perform at substantially high levels of accomplishment when compared with others of their age, experience, or environment. Academically or intellectually gifted students exhibit high performance capability in intellectual areas, specific academic fields, or in both the intellectual areas and specific academic fields. Academically or intellectually gifted students require differentiated educational services beyond those ordinarily provided by the regular educational program. Outstanding abilities are present in students from all cultural groups, across all economic strata, and in all areas of human endeavor."
